Put all the pieces of a healthy lifestyle together
Not too long ago I offered monthly talks sharing the best food strategies and lifestyle behaviors with the intention of emphasizing the healing abilities of food and how that relationship can transform our health and ultimately our lives.
Since each topic relates and impacts the others, as they are all a piece of the healthy lifestyle puzzle; I bundled them for a full experience.
In this Nutrition Workshop Bundle you'll find:
Come join in as we find ways to heal through food and do it together.
Food can be an incredible teacher and healer. This makes it a great place to start in rebalancing hormones. With that, there's so much information out there! Let's dispel the myths and explore how food impacts our entire well-being. Get ready to learn the best food choices and eating behaviors for hormone health (some may surprise you!). We'll also chat about cravings, emotional eating, and align our actions with the current season. These are core eating practices to create a strong immunity—a foundation to hormone health.
Sweet, salty or high-fat—which one is your personal craving? More importantly, what’s the message behind it? Join me as I talk about the deeper implications of food cravings, aversions, and eating behaviors (it’s not physical hunger or nutrient need). Together we can develop a keen awareness and understanding of our relationship with food—as how we do food is how we do life. I'll start by sharing the deeper messages behind common cravings and how our gut and emotions are intricately linked. We’ll then explore hunger and fullness cues, intuitive and mindful eating, along with helpful strategies to manage emotional eating. Let's bring the how and why we eat into the conversation—understanding they are as important as what we eat.
Did you know the digestive system has its own nervous system, contains brain receptors impacting our state of mind, and is home to the majority of the immune system? That the GI tract directly impacts hormone health—acting as a first line of defense against illness, while impacting mood, metabolism and quality of sleep? There’s more to the gut than a way to digest food and eliminate wastes. Its health is directly linked to our overall well-being.
In this workshop I talk about the gut-brain axis, the latest on the microbiome, benefits of intermittent fasting, and give practical nutrition tips. The intention is to create a foundation of practices that produce a healthy gut, strong immunity and peaceful mind. I’ll direct the conversation to align with the winter season ahead and all that it brings—a time to slow down and prepare for new beginnings.
Wanting to lose weight and as fast as possible without disruption to life is the dieter’s appeal. Drawing from East and West perspectives, I'll talk about the diet culture along with the physiological and psychological reasons why conventional approaches to weight don't last. I’ll then share what’s at the root of weight struggles (as it’s not simply an overeating or sedentary issue) and what practical actions you can begin to implement in your life. Let’s move forward with the tools to eat in a way that is flexible and sustainable for long-term success.
Heart disease continues to be the number one cause of death. The good news is research reveals that most heart disease is preventable and determined by our eating and lifestyle patterns. Join me in this workshop as we dive into strategies for protecting and nourishing the heart. I’ll share a holistic approach—linking the physiological factors, energetic influences, and role genetics may play. We’ll then discuss specific foods, preparation techniques, and eating behaviors to make supportive choices for heart health and ultimately longevity. Let’s continue to find ways to heal through food and do it together.
On average we spend 1/3 of our lifetime—about 25 years—sleeping. For many, sleep is a struggle and for others, it hasn’t met the priority list. Join me in this workshop as I dive into why we need sleep, what regulates it, what happens when we don't get enough, and how much we actually need. I’ll then share how our gut health directly impacts sleep quality and the intricate link to appetite, cravings, energy, cognitive function, and mood. You'll learn specific food strategies to improve sleep while also exploring ways to address digestive challenges such as heartburn, gas, bloating and constipation that may get in the way. Let’s continue to find ways to heal through food and do it together.
From the pandemic to work to relationships, we all encounter stress and cope in personal ways. What if there were methods to diffuse stress quicker or before it even started? What if we used our relationship with food to help us figure that out? Come join me as I share the world of mindfulness—the latest in brain research, quick mindset practices, and food strategies to enhance cognitive function and state of mind. Let’s discover how to use our kitchen time to go beyond de-stressing—boosting confidence, creativity and compassion. You’ll walk away from this workshop with brain-supportive go-to foods and a fresh new way to approach the entire culinary experience—a way that will directly impact your health and everyday life.
Mainstream trends have us in a counting calories and nutrient focused approach to nutrition. It’s time to go beyond and create a complete representation of food—bringing ALL of its traits into the conversation. Did you know that that food has thermal natures—warming, cooling, moistening and even drying qualities? Has energetic properties that nourish specific organs and tissues? Its own chemical signature that communicates with your DNA? Everything about your eating experience matters. This includes how meals are prepared and eaten, along with state of mind and conditioned beliefs about the food before you. Join me as I go beyond calories—introducing all of food’s characteristics, their influences on health and how you can incorporate this depth of understanding in choosing practical food choices that personally support you. Let’s expand how we relate to food—seeing its healing and health enhancing potential.
Do you catch a cold in the fall, experience arthritic flare-ups in the winter and allergies in the spring? How about digestive sensitivities and mood swings when seasons change? Your body is attuned to nature and directly impacts your physical, mental and emotional health—as everything that’s happening outside is happening within you. Consider yourself a miniature universe. Come join me as I share what each season represents, how to live in harmony, and do so through your relationship with food. Learn practical seasonal food choices, preparation techniques, and recipe suggestions that will help keep you remain centered in the transitions and in a strong state of well-being.
When viewing food as medicine and a way of life, nutrition takes on a different meaning and purpose. Nutrition expands past the physical body’s needs and becomes a topic of nourishment—how cravings and aversions, addictions and binges, and conditioned beliefs and emotional state, also play a role. Join in this workshop as I share the connections and messages behind the most common food interactions—sweet cravings, aversion to fish, the daily coffee need, love affair with bread; to emotional eating and yoyo dieting. Each experience has a message for you. Come learn those connections, deepening your relationship with food and ultimately with yourself.
We, as a society, are certainly living longer. An extended lifespan doesn’t necessarily mean a fulfilling and healthy one. Join me as I share a new paradigm—merging East and West ideas providing a broader and deeper insight into the aging process. Let's explore the latest scientific understandings that make it possible to reach our 8th decade of life in complete health—physically, mentally and emotionally. Let's initiate this through our relationship with food. Learn the pieces of the longevity puzzle along with the best food practices to build a foundation of health and well-being—as we're not looking to merely survive this lifetime, but instead to thrive.
Shifting the way you eat is not an easy, linear process. It actually can be rather messy because how we do food is how we do life. This means there's deeper belief systems, thoughts, emotions and behaviors that are tied to our food choices. Be prepared for things to surface as you make adjustments to your food. With that, my intention with this workshop is to share the key strategies from each nutrition talk. Consider it an opportunity to review and perhaps a starting point to begin. Start with one action at a time—bringing compassion and humor along for the ride.
As you begin watching the Nutrition Workshops, you will also gain access to The 8-WEEK Heal and Thrive Program and 3 Holistic Nutrition Courses, adding another 30 hours of content. Practical strategies, discussion forums, resource handouts, self-reflection questions and lifetime access also included. **Only available here and cannot be purchased separately.
Each week we’ll explore a key area of life along with specific strategies to begin. It starts with exploring food beyond the calorie counting and protein obsession. It then dives into topics that include exercise, mindset, emotions, stress, and sleep. We’ll unpack the latest health trends and weed through the enticing marketing so you’re equipped with the knowledge to make health-supportive decisions moving forward. The intention is to make health a priority without having to follow rigid and unrealistic rules. These are everyday actions that together provide a well-rounded lifestyle. (CLICK FOR DETAILS)

"My weight had been up and down my entire life. I spent a lifetime trying any diet I could get my hands on. Many times incurring in extreme exercising or diets with fast but never lasting results. By mid 40s my body started to change and nothing seemed to work. I was at my heaviest weight in years, like many my work stress was also at an all-time high and there was no time left for exercising. I was lost and couldn’t find a way forward. A friend of mine recommended Teri and with her I started a journey to health and healing. The plan was simple, not a diet but a lifestyle change. This included a different way of eating and exercising but most importantly ensuring my mind and body found balance. I trusted the process and closely followed Teri’s instructions, teachings, and recommendations. Very quickly I and those around me started noticing a drastic change not only in my body but most importantly my mind. I found my inner balance and for the first time in years I was at peace. This internal process naturally reflected on my body as I started to eat, sleep, and live a better, healthier life. I finally understood that living a healthy life requires my daily active engagement and to ensure this I now have the tools that will last me a lifetime. Teri literally changed my life and I will forever be thankful to her for the gift of health."
"Working with Teri was one of the best decisions I ever made. At a time when I didn’t think I had a moment to spare due to work deadlines, Teri was unflinching in her commitment to have me widen my scope, expand my focus, become more fluid with time, people and circumstances, and not only teach me life-changing daily practices, but be an abiding presence with guidance, lessons, and moral support too. I’m happier with my diet, sleep better (through the night, rather than interrupted); I feel well and healthy. Whether from better sleep, a deeper understanding and new habits of diet, cooking for myself again, or the synergy of all this and more, I’m finding I’m making better choices day to day, and even my intuition also seems more tuned in or “available” than previously—experiencing less anxiety and fear. I look forward to continuing work with Teri whenever I can—so much more to learn. "
"There is a saying in yoga that when the student is ready, the teacher appears. Lucky for me, I attended two of Teri's sessions at an IDEA Personal Trainer Conference. Since those sessions I've taken one of her online courses and have worked one on one with her. As I drink my scallion tea and now cook things I never dreamed I could, I include meeting Teri in my daily gratitude list. I'm warning you that her intuition is frighteningly accurate. Her understanding of eastern and western approaches to nutrition is encyclopedic. Her ability to transmit that knowledge at lightning speed is trance inducing and you are going to make changes and feel better whether you want to believe her or not. The craziest thing is you are going to love every minute of it. Her enthusiasm is boundless and her laugh lightens an entire room. Just commit and find a way to connect with her. Make yourself a ready student and hang on. Healing just became fun!"
"Teri redefined what holistic meant to me. She encouraged an exciting, refreshing new approach that healed me on many different levels. She helped me in every way that I hoped, in several ways I could have never anticipated and in many areas I thought I was genuinely beyond help. She shared that my challenges were all connected and actually told a story. Teri brings together an eastern and western approach like nobody else does. She has an enduring, positive energy and she envisioned my success before I even started. I'm forever grateful for how she's helped me change my life. "
"A friend recommended I talk to Teri after I dieted myself into a corner, an unhealthy one at that, and totally disconnected myself from food and the pleasure of it. Of course, that was just one part of the problem, but I didn’t know at the time that body and soul are related and cured at the same time. Little did I know my life was about to change. She taught me about what-when-how to eat and I went from disliking food to cherishing every meal. But my journey was so much more than that; she also generated an awareness and gave me the tools to heal my soul and lead a healthy, balanced and much more peaceful life. The route has not been easy, she encountered resistance and doubts, yet managed to keep me on track in a very gentle, kind and most resolute way. I am so very grateful Teri, for your guidance, support and patience, you gifted me the insight and tools to lead a life I didn’t think possible. I’m happy and healthy and full of life. Thank you!"
"Unknowingly from the moment I stepped in to Teri’s session, The Hidden Messages in Food, I knew it was no mistake that I was in the right place at the right time. Personally, I was on a journey for a few different reasons, ultimately to discover ways to help improve a chronic health condition. Little did I know that food, FOOD: How, what, when, and who I was eating with was about to be challenged and forever changed. Let’s be honest, this was scary, overwhelming, and uncomfortable. No one wants to be questioned on their food choices, or the deeper meaning of those choices. Especially if you are a picky eater, like me! Working with Teri was so much more than changing a grocery list. I was able to: step outside comfort zones, understand why I was eating/not eating certain foods, and ultimately, challenge habits that no longer served a purpose. I am truly grateful for the opportunity to have worked with Teri-an amazing experience that I would recommend to anyone. Teri has helped me become the best version of myself. Overall, I cannot say enough about how this experience has shifted what I think is possible, and how I feel on a daily basis. All for the better! Not to mention the greater mental clarity and weight loss."
"I feel very fortunate to have worked with Teri over the past 3 years. She always challenged me just enough, working with my personal needs and pace. In addition to her expertise in the exercise world, Teri meant so much more to me with her knowledge of Eastern healing systems. She understood my anxiety about health and other issues and handled it always with the right sense of humor, helping me to see it all in perspective. She has definitely made a positive impact on my life and has been an important part of my healing journey. I, wholeheartedly recommend Teri to anyone who is looking to make a positive change in their lives."
"I like to think of my time working with Teri as “My Journey to Happiness”! Teri taught me so much! My initial interest was learning about nutrition and losing weight. I’m so happy that I chose the holistic approach, because during my journey I learned that while it is important to be physically fit and maintain a healthy weight; it is just as important (maybe more so), to be emotionally well. Along with my weight loss, I no longer have heartburn issues, and less low back and shoulder pain. I am also more relaxed, less anxious and my self-talk is better. I feel a sense of peace. I will be forever grateful to Teri for leading me through my journey to happiness – truly one of the best experiences of my life!!"
